During 2023, the “Township of Lakes” celebrated the 225th anniversary of the establishment of Byram Township. The Byram Township Historical Society created the Byram Township 225th Anniversary Committee to bring various organizations within Byram Township and adjoining municipalities together to plan events that were held throughout 2023 to celebrate our past, herald our future, and promote tourism in our local region. As the gateway to the Sussex Skylands, and with its breadth of outdoor activities, the celebration provided a platform to generate a broader, long-lasting interest in visiting and enjoying Byram Township’s and Sussex County’s history, hospitality, and the fun and healthy benefits of the natural wonders our area provided.
