History is not only found in old photographs, documents and historic buildings. It is also shared through the people who come together to learn about the past and keep local stories alive.

The Byram Township Historical Society hosts programs throughout the year and also takes part in events across the community. Some focus on local history. Others are celebrations, tours, presentations, commemorations or fundraising events. Together, they give people more ways to learn about Byram and the surrounding area.

BTHS has worked with local organizations, historic sites, volunteers and community groups on many of these programs. Events have taken place at the Roseville School House, Waterloo Village and other locations throughout Byram Township and Sussex County. Special projects, including Byram’s 225th anniversary celebration, have also helped bring attention to the people, places and stories that shaped the township.

This page serves as a record of those efforts. Browse past events by year and look back at the many ways BTHS has helped preserve, share and celebrate local history.
